Here you can see how I convert the 135 format and 4 x 5 format camera to a zone plate camera. |

Kodak Retina 3c
This is a Kodak Retina 3c camera, the front and rear lens are removed. A brass adaptor ring is machine turned and it works as an extension ring as well. The zone plate is stick on the brass ring.
The brass ring fit in to the camera with it's "spring" mount, neither screw mount nor bayonet mount. It can be removed easily. The front door of the camera can be closed without removing the adaptor brass ring. Focal length of this zone plate camera is 65mm, with 7 clear zones and f-stop is f64.9. Zone plate mount on Copal No. 0 Shutter
In order to use different focal length zone plate at the field, I designed an adaptor ring that hold the zone plate and change it easily. The adaptor is mount on a Copal No. 0 shutter for actual shutter speed.
With this adaptor ring, I can use any focal length of zone plate with my field camera whenever I want.
The zone plate is hold in position inside the adaptor ring by an inner metal ring which is lock to the adaptor ring by two machine screw. Images took by this zone plate camera can be seen at our Zone Plate Gallery
